Puppy Preschool

For puppies from 12 - 18 weeks.

Just the class you need to get your puppy started off on the right paw. Our puppy class offers "real world" training for situations you will encounter everyday with your new pup; what to do at the vet, when meeting a stranger, or another dog on leash. Other topics include housetraining, bite inhibition, jumping and more.

Basic behaviors of sit, down, stay and come are also taught. Lots of appropriate play time and exposure to new experiences will help your pup accept the unfamiliar world they live in.

Take advantage of this early period in your puppy’s life when they are the most pliable. This is a great start on the path to a well-socialized pup. Course handouts and clicker are included.

Don't wait! Take advantage of this time when your puppy is the most "plastic" -- when they are the most open to new experiences.

Sessions are 1 hour for 6 consecutive weeks.

Rookie Rover

For dogs over 18 weeks of age who have had little or no prior formal obedience training.

Kindergarden for dogs, just what they need to get started on the path to a polished pooch. Basic behaviors of sit, down, stay, heeling, and recall are taught using the clicker. Attention exercises, focus, and controlling your dog without a leash will also be covered. A great class for those who want the basics and those who need a refresher. Agility obstacles used in class to reinforce behaviors learned and for socialization. Course handouts and clicker are included.

Sessions are 1 hour for 6 consecutive weeks.

Cultured Canine

Middle school for dogs that have the basics down and to continue their education toward becoming well-mannered companions. This class will build on the important foundation that you and your dog have established. Attention with more distraction and control of your dog will be the focus of the 6 weeks. Behaviors covered will include stand, back up, sit and down from a distance, park it, wait at the door and advanced leave it. In addition, we will focus on advanced shaping techniques that show the true power of clicker and operant conditioning. Complex behavior shaping exercises begin in week 1 and progress through week 6.

Sessions are 1 hour for 6 consecutive weeks.

Polished Pooch

Pre-requisite Cultured Canine.

High school for your hound to round out that education in the big world. Finally some freedom! This class will be mostly conducted off leash in our facility. Reliability testing with very challenging distractions such as a cat, other dogs, bikes, rollerbladers etc will proof such skills as stay, leave it and come. This class will ensure attention and reliability with cues learned in previous classes. Included in the session are field trips to local parks to practice in the real world. week 1 and progress through week 6.

Sessions are 1 hour for 6 consecutive weeks.

The CGC program welcomes both purebred and mixed-breed dogs. A few of the test items include Sitting Politely for Petting, Staying in Place, Reaction to distractions such as wheelchairs and canes and Supervised Separation. We will also work on perfecting your dog's recall and heeling without food or head halters.

Wallflower Class

Is your pup a wallflower when it comes to interacting other dogs? Does your dog tuck it's tail and avoid opportunities to say hello to new dog friends? Does your dog spook at unfamiliar objects or things that are out of place in your home? This class gives you safe opportunites for building your dog's confidence and learning calm and gentle greetings. Carefully monitored play time designed to build confidence with the use of tools such as agility jumps, tunnels and more.

This is an entry level class for dogs who would be overwhelmed by more boisterous dogs. Focus will be on incorporating the basics of attention, sit, watch, down, stay and come during the 6 week session while building confidence with new and unfamiliar objects, dogs and people.
