Joann is a co-owner and Certified Pet Dog Trainer for Pawsitive Pet Solutions, LLC. Her dogs Murphy, Allie, Reilly and Kirby are pictured at the right.

It was her experiences with her dog Bailey that spawned her interest in training and most specifically, behavior. She has several years of experience working with rescue and shelter dogs -- specifically herding breeds and sporting breeds and has fostered numerous dogs and cats since 1998, providing them with a temporary home and teaching them basic manners as well as providing long-term fostering situations for dogs with more serious issues such as separation anxiety, dog-dog aggression and shyness. She has also done clicker training with horses to overcome some common training issues.

She also spent several years volunteering as an obedience instructor for a local shelter has provided breed rescues with behavioral advice on an as needed basis.

Joann has extensive experience working with dogs with fear issues. She specializes in helping dog owners understand how to build their dog's confidence and overcome their fears.

In February of 2006, Joann accepted a position as Director of Animal Behavior Programs at The Society for the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals (SICSA) in Kettering, OH. She is also currently providing private training, behavioral consultations and modification programs, AKC Canine Good Citizen Testing and occasional group classes.

Joann and her dogs Allie and Kirby are registered as Pet Partner Teams through Delta Society.

Since 2001, she has been providing behavioral consultations and modification programs, conducting private and group lessons including Clicker Training for puppies and dogs, advanced level classes and Canine Good Citizen Certification.

In addition, she spent several years volunteering as an obedience instructor for a local shelter and has been a foster home for Golden Retriever Rescue (GRRAND) and ARPH, providing homeless Goldens and Aussies temporary homes and teaching them basic manners.

Leeann's special skill is preparing family dogs for the arrival of a baby! Having two small children and two dogs, Leeann is tops in this arena!

Leeann has also provided long-term fostering situations for dogs with more serious issues such as dog-dog aggression, separation anxiety and shyness. Her commitment is to help owners obtain that trusting, loving relationship we all seek with our dogs by opening the lines of communication between dogs and humans in a positive and respectful way.

Both Leeann and Joann attend continuing education seminars and workshops annually and are members in good standing of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Both are also certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluators.
